Sonoko Sakai

Japanese Curry Powder

The key ingredient to making Japanese curry from scratch, this well-balanced 17 spice mix from chef Sonoko Sakai is kaleidoscopic, boasting flavors from all over the spice spectrum – punchy turmeric, cumin, and mustard, as well as mild-mannered but no less funky fenugreek, kombu, and shiitake.

In addition to making a tasty curry, it's also a handy spice mix to have ready to throw into a batch of fried rice, masala daal, or for a simple seasoned omelet.

No palm oil or preservatives.

1 tablespoon = four servings of Japanese curry.
