Marcia Southwick

Build With Adobe

Frustrated with the limited availability of information on adobe home construction, Southwick set out to build herself a home and write about the process. The result is an informal, enjoyable review of various aspects of building with adobe that should be considered before embarking on such a project.

Topics covered include the broad range of possible building materials, historical and cultural context of adobe construction, and of course various design specifics and recommendations for one's consideration. Not quite a how-to, but rather a digestible introduction to the idea and lessons learned from someone who's gone through the experience firsthand.
