Hopi Dyes

Written with the intention of preserving precious information for future Hopi generations, Hopi Dyes offers a wide range of traditional recipes for dyeing with native Southwestern plants, as well as information on preferred fibers and their necessary preparation and mordants.

Somewhat uniquely for a text on natural dyes, Hopi Dyes covers not only dyes for the textile fibers cotton and wool, but gives equal attention to dyes for use in basketry, as these are centrally important to the Hopi people. Each recipe has been tested for effectiveness.

Soft cover with a few black and white photographs.
