The Mountains of California
Iconic naturalist John Muir's third book is largely the result of notes taken while hiking through the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Full of typically beautiful Muirian insights into the natural world, many of his observations feel as though they were made today, while others are painful in hindsight, as we find details of a world he observed that no longer exists.
Soft cover with black and white illustrations and photographs throughout.
