Malcolm Margolin

The Ohlone Way

What began as a simple curiosity transformed into years of research culminating in The Ohlone Way, a thoughtful reconstruction of pre-colonial life in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas. As inspirational as it is disheartening, Margolin paints a picture of a society with a unique relationship to its surroundings and neighboring communities, before concluding with a sobering recounting of the near elimination of the Ohlone people by colonization leading up to the present day*.
