Single Origin Anamalai Nutmeg
Note: This item is listed for FREE as the remaining units are past their 'best by' date. This is in no way an expiration date and the nutmeg is still perfectly usable. Limited to one jar per person.
Intensely aromatic, Diaspora's organic Anamalai nutmeg is fully tree ripened and left whole and in the shell for maximum flavor and oil content, and boasts notes of menthol, sweet potato, and tobacco. Crack open and grate fresh with an oroshigane.
Fully traceable, this nutmeg is regeneratively grown by Harish Manoj Kumar & Karthikeyan Palaniswamy on their family estate at the base of the Western Ghats alongside their award-winning cacao. Highlighting the seasonality of spice farming, each batch is grown in small quantities and harvested at peak potency and freshness.
An unspoken necessity for holiday dessert favorites like eggnog and pumpkin pie, but equally as versatile and valuable in savory cuisine, from béchamel sauced lasagna to massaman curry.
Committed to transparency, each jar comes labeled with its harvest date.
