Each shoe has unique characteristics and can include variations in color, wrinkles, and markings. Undyed, naturally tanned leather is revered for the subtle patina it develops over time, slowly transforming and becoming more tied to those who use it, deepening in both complexity and meaning. We consider these recordings part of what make natural leather special.
Taka is a unisex, minimalist line of footwear and accessories designed for maximum versatility and daily use, with each piece intended to adapt to the wearer and evolve in character over time. The entire line is made of compostable, natural materials and natural dyes, and individually hand crafted by a single artisan.

*Tanning is the process of curing raw hide into leather. Vegetable tanning is an organic process reliant upon the natural tannins contained within plants, and takes about 8 weeks to complete. By contrast, the majority of leather in the world is tanned by chemical methods (typically chrome), which is known to have harmful impacts on human health as well as the environment.

• Condition with natural oils and waxes periodically to maintain quality
• Ensure that leather is dried thoroughly and conditioned after exposure to water
