Washi Dustpan in Benigara Black
The epitome of form following function: the washi dustpan in benigara* black. Incredibly thin and lightweight, yet sturdy – it makes an otherwise mundane task deeply pleasurable. Being handmade entirely from natural materials, it never builds up static charge as plastic dustpans do, allowing you to easily sweep dust, dirt, and hair in and out without resistance.
Features a twine attachment for hanging display and easy accessibility.
Though designed to last, all good things must come to an end. When your dustpan has finally reached its functional limits, please compost.
Also available in Kakishibu Red.
Pair with a Windmill Palm Broom to help yourself look forward to sweeping daily.
Materials: Washi, bamboo frame, kakishibu (persimmon [Diospyros] tannin sealant), benigara (natural earth pigment), windmill palm (Trachycarpus fortunei) twine.
Designed and made in Japan.
*Benigara is an earth pigment which naturally ranges from ruddy red to brownish black. In addition to making a beautiful color, benigara is also resistant to sunbleaching, air, heat, and alkalinity, helping make for a more durable dustpan. It is traditionally used in Japan as an antiseptic/insect repellant on housing exteriors.
