Modeled after the shape of a turtle, tawashi brushes are a dishwashing staple in traditional Japanese households. Made of firm but flexible shuro palm fibers that are soft to the touch, tawashi are waterproof and biodegradable, and can be used on nearly any dish or pan. Also useful for scrubbing dirt and grit off of vegetables like potatoes.
Features a twine attachment of the same palm fiber for hanging dry.
At end of life, separate palm and stainless steel wire in order to compost and recycle parts respectively.
Materials: Shuro palm (Trachycarpus fortunei), stainless steel wire, windmill palm twine.
Designed and made in Kishu, Japan from Chinese palm.
Each tawashi measures ~3"x4"x1.75".
