Upcycled Horn Hair Pick
Best for thick, easily knotting, and/or curly hair, a pick is an essential tool for detangling hair, especially before brushing.
Horn is an ideal material for picks, as both hair and horn are primarily made up of the same material - keratin. Thick, substantial, and incredibly smooth, these picks don't snag, and can withstand the pressure of brushing out thick knots. Their shape distributes oils evenly, and feels lovely on the scalp. Being free of plastic, you won't get any static buildup.
Some hair types only need a good pick for perfect hair, while others might use hair picks to detangle before brushing. If you start brushing without first detangling your hair, you can damage your brush over time, and won't get the full conditioning benefits of brushing with natural materials.
As an entirely natural and untreated product, these horn hair picks are biodegradable and can be composted at end of life.
Note that as horn is a natural material, the shape, as well as the color and pattern will vary from piece to piece, ranging from translucent, pale yellows to deep, solid blacks.
A small family-owned enterprise, Hornvarefabrikken has been making high-quality natural horn products for home and body since 1935.
